Beyoncé's filling arenas on her 'I Am...' tour, Kelly's filling dancefloors with a little help from French DJ David Guetta, and now Michelle's about to fill London's Cambridge Theatre as murderous showgirl Roxie Hart in Chicago. Here's an interview with Michelle. What made you want to appear in Chicago?"Well, the musical itself is obviously legendary and I'd have been a fool not to attach myself to it. Also, I felt it was time for me to get back on that theatre stage. In between each album I want to take on some kind of theatre project and I seem to be managing it so far." Last year you released Unexpected, your first pop album as a solo artist. Were you pleased with how it was received?"Of course I wanted better sales and to be able to tour, but I was pleased with the reception it got considering it was my very first mainstream pop album. I'm kinda known as a gospel girl, so I think I have to push a little harder to make people believe I can also do pop music. I think the album did well at getting that message across." ( Mais....... )Finally, there's a rumour going round that Destiny's Child are contractually obliged to reform for one last album. Is there any truth to this?"You know, I honestly don't know. Is there anybody from Sony on the line to help me out? I'm not giving you the answer I've been told to give or anything, but to my understanding I'm not obligated. Would I be up for a reunion? Oh definitely, but one day in the future when everybody's ready to do the group thing again." Michelle Williams stars in Chicago at London's Cambridge Theatre from July 13 to August 23. here

hey everyone! since i'm posting here you can probably tell that i'm looking for more friends. i like to think my entries are generally entertaining (and if you find otherwise then i apologize) and i try not to whine unless i'm so hungover that i want to die. i don't comment a whole lot but i do try and read every post and respond when i have something to say. i'm pretty open-minded––to the extent that i can live with the fact that people have opinions and beliefs that differ from my own. here is what i like: art, literature, music, film, gossip blogs (specificially this one), rollerblading, kayaking, american apparel (it's unhealthy), true blood, gossip girl, partying, nyc, and cuddling. if it makes any difference to you, i'm nineteen. if you're an interesting person, age doesn't matter to me. we don't have to have anything in common to be friends, but you should not add me if you are easily offended. also beware: i'm 420 friendly and huge homo. yes, tits are great. caroline.

Tauntaun sleeping bag inches closer to realityFrom the file of things so cool we wish they were real: That sleeping bag in the shape of a Tauntaun from The Empire Strikes Back, which ThinkGeek.com posted as an April Fool's joke this year. (Such cunning details, like the lightsaber zipper, meant to evoke Han's evisceration of the poor creature.) Well, we weren't alone in wanting one, of course, and the site was compelled to post this note: Due to an overwhelming tsunami of requests from YOU THE PEOPLE, we have decided to TRY and bring this to life. We have no clue if the suits at Lucasfilms will grant little ThinkGeek a license, nor do we know how much it would ultimately retail for. But if you are interested in ever owning one of these, click the link below and we'll try! Now comes news from the LA Weekly that ThinkGeek has been working with Lucasfilm to get an actual license to produce the thing, which will likely be modified from the design in the spoof (and also likely cost a bit more than the $39 on the fake ad). Here's what ThinkGeek's PR guy, Shane Peterman, told the weekly newspaper: We are definitely trying to make it into an actual item to be sold on our site. As of right now, it's still an "if," but it's turning into more of a "when." Things are looking pretty good, we just don't want to get too far ahead of ourselves. There's certainly been enough of a demand, both from customers and from those of us that work here. Right now, we're aiming to have it available for the holidays or, at the latest, the 30th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back next spring. Have you gotten the go-ahead from Lucas? We're still working with Lucas to get approval for a final design. Again, it's looking good, we just can't say too much right now since it's still in the works. Of course, if history is our guide, it's always possible that Lucasfilm will go ahead and copy the thing and just sell it themselves. sourcei HOPE SO. I LOOOVE ThinkGeek! I ordered a Mogwai(GIZMO) from them, as well as a Flux Capacitor for my car. [/geek.]
oh wait. eta: [geek] It was LUKE, not han, who ripped open the tauntaun, Lightsaber says it all.. okay. [/geek]
i got owned.

Note: The article originally came from a Swedish website, which I ran through Google translator. I then did my best to copyedit it, but it's not perfect. 13-year-old Lina Leandersson has received awards in the U.S. for "best breakthrough role," and for "best female leading role." But she has no idea when DD hits her. "Oh, what fun! But it feels really weird," she says. Nine months have passed since the premiere of the hit movie "Let the Right One In". Although the film has been sold to over 50 countries and has received lots of awards and accolades, life is not very different for Lina Leandersson, one of the protagonists. She will begin in eighth grade at Gruvrisskolan and dances, studying and socializing with friends at leisure. But she has a dream to start a theater or film school in high school. "The dream is to support me as an actress and to play different kinds of roles, "she says. In "Let the Right One In" Lina Leandersson plays Eli, which is a different role. Eli is the vampire, which Lina Leandersson had no idea when she searched the role. She saw on the internet to search for a 12 year old boy or girl who were good at running, so she searched believing that it was "an ordinary film at the cinema." "I got a shock when they said that Eli was a vampire. But it was just fun, "she says. And the role seems to suit her. Several scenes were played in three on the night - and she tends to be brisk. "I fall asleep wake up three and eight, so I sleep only five hours. Then I can sleep away a whole day of the week, "she says. In November last year Lina Leandersson was listed as one of the world's hottest vampires, along with Robert Pattison from the movie "Twilight" and Stephen Moyer from the television series "True Blood". It was USA Today, the USA's largest newspaper, which examined the phenomenon of vampire movies and felt that the only 13-year old actress was one of the best in the industry. At first, it is essential to know that no name is determined at the moment, so forget the rumour about “Dark Angels”, “K.A.R.M.A”, “Bad Girl Gone Good” etc. Rihanna has chosen the name of the album a few weeks ago, but want to keep it as a secret until the last moment, to avoid any leak.
Numerous artists are collaborating on this album, which will be very certainly an enormous success and will make the return of Rihanna an inevitable come-back worldwide.

One week after Los Angeles police confirmed that investigators had not ruled out homicide in the death of Michael Jackson, the late singer's older sister, La Toya Jackson, reveals that she suspects he was murdered, the U.K.'s Mail On Sunday reports. "I believe Michael was murdered," she said. "I felt that from the start. Not just one person was involved, rather it was a conspiracy of people. He was surrounded by a bad circle. Michael was a very meek, quiet, loving person. People took advantage of that. People fought to be close to him, people who weren’t always on his side." She blamed this "shadowy entourage" for supplying him with prescription drugs. "They got him hooked on drugs," she said. "He was pure and clean and then drugs came back into his system. I think it shocked his system so much it killed him." Although results from toxicology tests will take a few more weeks to reveal a definitive cause of death, La Toya -- who signed Michael's death certificate on June 25 after he suffered a cardiac arrest at the age of 50 -- is certain the investigation will reveal her worst fears. LOS ANGELES — The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation said Friday that "Bruno," the new film starring Sacha Baron Cohen, reinforces negative stereotypes and "decreases the public's comfort with gay people." GLAAD president Jarrett Barrios, who saw the film Friday, said that "the movie was a well-intentioned series of sketches _ some hit the mark and some hit the gay community pretty hard and reinforce some damaging, hurtful stereotypes."
In a style similar to his popular Borat character, Baron Cohen brings Bruno, a flamboyantly gay Austrian fashionista, into ridiculous situations with unsuspecting everyday people.Universal Pictures, which released "Bruno," sought GLAAD's input on the film and invited staff members to advance screenings, Barrios said. The organization "shared a number of concerns, and unfortunately, the scenes that we had the biggest concerns about remained in the film," Barrios said. One such scene shows Bruno in a hot tub with his adopted infant son and two naked men involved in a sex act. "Scenes like that don't help America understand the hundreds of thousands of gay families who get up every day, do the carpool then rush home to make dinner and be with their children," Barrios said. Similarly, the movie's mock marriage scene "doesn't help Americans understand the lives of gay couples who are denied the rights and protections of marriage in 43 states," he said. Universal Pictures maintains that "Bruno" is a satire that "uses provocative comedy to powerfully shed light on the absurdity of many kinds of intolerance and ignorance, including homophobia." "While any work that dares to address relevant cultural sensitivities might be misinterpreted by some or offend others, we believe the overwhelming majority of the audience will understand and appreciate the film's inarguably positive intentions, which we've seen demonstrated whenever we have shown it," the studio said in a statement.
Barrios said that while he believes the filmmakers had good intentions and that some moviegoers will see the satire, "some people in the gay community will be as troubled as GLAAD is that the movie doesn't decrease homophobia, but decreases the public's comfort with gay people.source
